Dr. Chang grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her DVM from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded an NIH T32 Fellowship in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences after graduation. During that fellowship, she completed a PhD in Innate Immunity and Inflammation Biology. After the fellowship, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and spent three years working with Exodus Cry, an anti-human trafficking organization. After moving back east to the Northern Virginia area, she began working at a large local emergency hospital. Now several years later, she has joined the Columbia Pike Animal Hospital family. Her professional interests include Emergency and Critical Care medicine and surgery.
In her spare time, Dr. Chang enjoys spending time with her son, working out, and enjoying the company of friends and family. She currently has two mischievous cats and her ex-racehorse, Misty.
