I was born in Magdeburg, Germany, into a military family, and from a young age, I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. My passion for animal science began when I was just 12 years old. During my school years, I had the unique opportunity to work with the K9 Units for the Ukrainian Police and Army, which deepened my love for veterinary medicine.
I pursued my education at Poltava State Agrarian University in Ukraine, where I earned a dual degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology. My particular interests lie in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, epidemiology, and infectious diseases. I firmly believe that veterinary medicine plays a critical role not only in supporting the health of our pets but also in protecting human populations from dangerous zoonotic diseases. With great respect for all medical professionals, I often like to say (with a wink) that doctors treat humans, but veterinarians treat humanity.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family and staying active through exercise. I live in Northern Virginia with my beautiful wife, Anya, who is also a veterinarian. We have three wonderful daughters—Vasilisa, Sophia, and Alexandra—and our home is happily shared with two dogs and two cats.
