Erin Downard – Patient Care Manager
Erin L. Downard is an experienced veterinary and pharmacy manager. Her passion and drive to provide the best possible care for all animals was developed at an early age, growing up on a farm in rural Ohio. As a Patient Care Manager, she strives for excellence in patient care, team development, and leadership. Erin spends her free time outdoors, biking, kayaking, camping, and hiking with her dog, Charley.
Tony – Client Care Manager
Tony is our Client Care Manager. He’s been in the customer service industry for 23 years. His love of people is only surpassed by his love of pets. Tony grew up in Connecticut and moved to Virginia in 2002. He’s had dogs his entire life and currently has a 10-year-old Foxhound mix named Mia. When not working, he loves hiking with Mia, cooking, and geeking out over comic books.
Janet Gurumendi – HR Director
After completing her Bachelor of Science at George Mason University, she applied her psychology degree in the realm of leadership and human resources. With a combined five years’ experience in service and retail, she learned her interests more aligned with developing and advocating for fair employee-employer partnerships. Since 2013, she has progressed her human resources professional experience and responsibilities in recruiting, employee advocacy, and human resources management. In 2019, she achieved the recognition of Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resources Management.
When she isn’t spending time supporting the hospital teams, she is spoiling her two Schnauzers, Paisley and Remi. As a former baker, she’s often researching new recipes to test and share with family and friends. She and her husband enjoy exploring local cultural events, vintage car and motorcycle shows, and the restaurant scene. Any chance she gets, she’ll make a trip to her home town, Charleston, South Carolina, to visit family and escape to the beach.
Angela – Hospital Administrator
Angela developed a passion for animals from a very young age. As a young girl growing up on a farm in Odessa, Florida, she loved spending time with her family and her animals.
Angela spent her youth mastering sports. She received accolades in basketball and track and field. She went on to pursue higher education, receiving certification as a computer programmer.
Angela brings 12 years of practice management experience from Banfield Animal Hospital. She has managed a number of their hospitals in the state of Maryland and looks forward to sharing her technical and medical expertise.
Angela is now a mother of two and enjoys spending time with her daughter and visiting with her son, who is in the military, whenever possible. She’s passionate about her love of animals, her cat Phoebe, her 23 fish, and her shoes.
